Report: 6th National Hybrid Umpire Course

On Friday, May 16, the Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation International (CTFI) successfully hosted its Sixth National Hybrid Umpire Course. The event, which spanned just over seven hours, was led by the CTFI Umpire Committee under the direction of Master Chris Law, Mr. Maxime Lavoie, Mr. Jeff Turchyn and Ms. Valerie Gingras Precourt

Held in advance of the upcoming National Championships, the course served as a timely and essential preparation for officials who will play key roles in the event. The training focused on the responsibilities and duties of the Jury President and Center Referee, covering all facets of Taekwon-Do competition. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and practical application, participants gained valuable insight and skills to ensure fair, consistent, and high-quality officiating.

A group of over 100 Master Instructors and students from across Canada attended the course, demonstrating a strong commitment to excellence and continued professional development within the Taekwon-Do umpiring community.

The Umpire Committee extends its sincere thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm and dedication.
