ITF Taekwon-Do World E-Tournament – Results for CANADA
The International Taekwon-Do Federation held it’s first ever World E-Tournament offering events in many categories for ages 12+ and blue belt and above, much the same as a World Cup. These events included Individual Patterns, Team Patterns and Team Pre-Arranged Sparring. This E-Tournament played host to participants from 39 countries, 164 member clubs, 906 competitors, 127 coaches and 56 umpires. A special thank you goes out to the organizing committee and the umpires who made this prestigious event possible, especially during these challenging times.
Canada had great participation from 10 member clubs, 51 competitors, 7 coaches and 5 umpires. A total of 8 medals were won by Canadian athletes consisting of 2 Silver and 6 Bronze. Congratulations to all of the winners and to all of the athletes who participated in this event, representing their country, their club and themselves. A lot of hard work and training went into their training in a short amount of time.
The ITF also launched a new program over a year ago called the Adapted Program offering classes and instruction for students with certain disabilities, being it physical, cognitive, genetic or acquired. This E-Tournament also marked the first time that the athletes of the Adapted Program were included to compete in a demonstration event. We are very proud to congratulate Mr. Darryl Andaya of DSA Royal International Taekwon-Do for his performance and participation in this event!
